At the onset of the project, I pitched this animation to build the aquarium using animated 2D assets. I used Photoshop and After Effects to animate a very quick character animation. Design of the fish by Grace Mills.

Accessorize a Fish and Aquarium

We first worked on the wireframing and design for the various UI’s throughout the restaurant. A 3-panel wall at the entry would allow 1-3 people to customize fish. Several displays around the restaurant would display the aquarium with the user-created fish. Kiosks were also integrated into the bar, and users could browse the menu and build a fish there as well. An Android and iOS mobile app was designed as well. The UI design aesthetic was created to be fun and child-friendly. I was also the single member of the team with 3D experience, so I spent a lot of time building and editing purchased 3D assets in Cinema 4D to use as assets to put on the fish.
